What the heck --???

Where have the days gone? It seems neither my hour-glass nor my time machine have been working correctly or I would have noticed my sooner that the inevitable has occurred: I haven't been here in an exceedingly long time.

I've been writing in the journal I dedicate to same, and have been delightfully prolific, but that isn't this journal. Have people been using their LJs? Do you still find them useful for keeping in touch with people or for honing their focus on life or finding it cathartic the express yourself here?

I would like your feedback as I try to decide if I need to move on to something else, as I don't seem to be using my little seattlemouse... :(

Thank you in advance.

Amanda :D

Still Here

I use my LJ less then I used to, not sure if that is because of life falling apart and the move and now being a single Mom etc or because I haven't felt the need to write.

I have written a several private, for me only posts. Mainly because typing is way easier on me then hand written which till William came along was how I used to do my personal journaling.

Re: Still Here
See? I'm not in the habit of checking my journal anymore, hence the delay in replying...

I didn't know about life, moving or single status.

I'm so sorry that things are chaotic. They are here, too, but for very different reasons. Where are you living now? :)

Re: Still Here
Yeah my life kinda fell side ways and a bit almost a year ago.
Hardest, but best decision I have made in a long time was to part ways with Andrew.

It's not what I wanted, but it is the reality of the situation (long story).

Well I work on taking care of me I opted to (at the insistence of my parents) to move me and William back to Orillia and in with my parents.

Life is slowly taking on normalcy and I am beginning to feel like the me I thought I had lost for so long. Which is good as my son (now 5.5 years old) is struggling with school, life changes and a diagnosis of ADHD.

I'm still here! *waves*

This is my second attempt at daily journaling. Last year was cut short when our beloved pet died, but this year we're doing well.

*hugs to you and the fam*

Delays, delays. One of the reasons I'm not here often these days, lol!

I'm so sorry to hear about your pet. I apologize for not even remembering you had one, but I know what it is like to lose them. They are a member of the family.

Speaking of which, Mum, Peter and Dotty are all still here, too, along with three gerbil sisters, our second batch.

I still check every day or so to see what people are posting. Not too many people do, but I'm interested in what I read.

I don't post much here or on FB or Twitter. Mostly sharing and retweeting, with comments on other people's posts.

But then, I haven't posted a lot myself since Nanowrimo last fall, and once before that last year. I've used LJ to post about my daughter, but not so much anymore.

I don't keep a daily journal at all. My life just isn't all that interesting.

Sorry to hear about your pet, Lara.

Life ate me, sorry...

I'm not on Twitter or Facebook or MySpace or SpaceBook or MyFace or whatever these fancy social network things are called. I'm here and on my writing journal.

And I'm barely here.

I did Nanowrimo a few years back. Reminds me that I need to work on the piece I completed for it. :)

My life isn't very interesting, either, lol!

How is your family?

Family's doing all right. The girl just finished her first year of college. She loves the school and her friends and everything, but she is very glad to be finished with classes and finals. She has all kinds of plans for the summer, including writing and making pancakes every day. She got all of the classes she wants for next semester, so that will be fun. She had a false start last year--had to take a year off, but apparently the registrar's office didn't quite get the memo. She got to register with sophomore priority instead of freshman, which is probably why she was able to get the class on Terry Pratchett.

Husband's got the same job. The benefits include a tuition contribution for the children of employees. Huge help!

I'm trying to keep up with writing and have joined a local group. At the moment though, I can't write. Literally can't write. I cut my right index finger rather badly while moving the kid out of her dorm room. Nine-fingered typing, no handwriting, probably for another week or two. Nuisance, at best. At least I can drive.

I'm sort of working on my most recent Nano piece, but I think it needs more world-building. I'm trying not to get sucked in too deep, but I need some support for some of the slightly more disturbing points of the story. Or something to tell me I have to change it drastically.
